This post has photographs of two people who were seeking alms in a temple in Dharmapuri.
I shot these photographs in Kalabairavar Temple in Dharmapuri. Both, the man and woman were seeking alms in the temple premises. I gave them some money and did not hesitate to take permission before photographing them. They were more than happy and posed as well.

The woman in these photographs has crossed her middle age. She is wearing a blue color cotton saree and orange color blouse. This is a typical saree worn by many elderly women in southern India.
She is wearing a yellow thread around her neck and has spread a viboothi (sacred ash) on her forehead. She has spread the ash with her fingers, the marks of which is visible.
Her hair is partially white and is somewhat coiled. In the second photograph, yellow and purple flowers are visible.
The woman shows full energy and no signs of weakness. This is evident from the smile on her face.
She is wearing a nose pin, can be a gold or artificial. She has made another hole on the left side of the nose. (Is it a provision for one more nose pin?). Her red lips are a result of chewing beetle leaves and nuts with slaked lime.
We had a conversation with the woman while photographing her. She showed willingness and sang a song for us showing her blessings. We gave her some more money.
The most interesting part of this person is the transparent glasses he is wearing. While this looks modern, it does compliment with his traditional attire.
He has wrapped the towel on the head that looks like a turban. His red color shawl is highlighting his generous white color beard and mustache.
If you notice the beard, he has trimmed it near the cheeks and left it to grow at the chin. I assume that he is managing his looks somehow.
In the photograph, he is not angry or happy but seems to be OK with his situation.
I captured all the photographs in this post at Kalabairavar Temple in Dharmapuri (Tamil Nadu). I used Canon D1200 with the kit lens. Amount of money dispersed was Rs. 100/- (There were more alms seekers. I have not published their photographs here).
